Mark Hudson says Huddersfield Town have what it takes to kick their dodgy away form firmly into touch.

The skipper leads his side into big Championship games at Middlesbrough today and Wigan Athletic a week later on the back of just one point from 15 on the road.

But Town have won their last two league games at home to Bolton Wanderers and Watford, and Hudson says there is no reason why they can’t add to their victory tally by the River Tees.

“We know we have a good enough squad to beat most sides in this division if we get things right,” said the former Cardiff City centre-back.

“And we also know we have a bit of character and can dig in as well, so there’s no reason why we can’t get something from what are two big matches.

“The win over Watford especially was a big boost. We had a gameplan which we worked hard on in training, and we stuck to it.

“We knew we had to get in their faces, to stop them settling and playing their football. We had to disrupt them and not let up.

“It was frustrating that we gave them a sniff with their equaliser, and a team like Watford can seize an opportunity like that, but we bounced back well.

“We also hit back after conceding a very early goal to Bolton and that showed what kind of resilience we have.

“Seven points from nine is a decent return, but we want to continue our good form and that means getting something against Middlesbrough.

“If we can take the mentality we show at home onto the road and make a few tweaks to tactics, we’ll be okay.”

Hudson hailed the return from injury of his central defensive partner Joel Lynch, who scored with a spectacular overhead kick against Watford.

‘It was a great goal, and he deserved it because it he had worked hard to get back fit again, said Hudson.
