Mark Hudson reckons there’s a huge amount of potential in Reece James.

Town’s loan signing from Manchester United, brought in following Jack Robinson’s serious knee injury, will make his fifth appearance for the club against Derby County.

The 21-year-old has yet to finish in the losing side, with Town claiming two wins and two draws during his stint at the John Smith’s Stadium.

James’ inexperience appears to have made him a target, with Brighton the latest to load up against the left-back.

However experienced skipper Hudson said: “He has done well for us and played a big part in our recent run.

“He is a bright lad who wants to learn and he has slotted in nicely.

He has added to our squad and hopefully we can help him, because he is a talented player with real potential.”

Hudson reckons Chris Powell’s side have shown character and resilience since coming out of the recent international break.

“We have stuck together, worked hard and got our rewards,” said the former Cardiff player who was signed during this season’s first transfer window.

“We went too long without a win (seven games) and sometimes matches slipped away from us, but I don’t think giving up is in the nature of this group of players.”

The visit of play-off chasing Derby, against whom Hudson scored his sole Town goal in the 3-2 away defeat in November, is Town’s fifth match in a fortnight.

“It’s been a busy spell and we have had a bit of travelling, but the adrenaline gets you through, and good results help,” he added.
