TOWN are chasing a sixth successive win in home games against Plymouth.

The most recent meeting was in 2002-03, when Martin Smith’s penalty clinched a 1-0 victory in what is now League I.

The last of Argyle’s five triumphs in 21 league visits to Huddersfield came by a 2-1 margin in the original Division II in 1986-87.

And the Devonians would love a repeat of the Second Division scoreline of 1960-61, when they won 5-1.

Mind you, Town took revenge the season after, winning 5-1 with goals by Derek Stokes (2), Jimmy Kerray, Mike O’Grady and Les Massie.

Plymouth’s 2-1 win at Leeds Road in 1964-65 promoted the resignation of Town manager Eddie Boot.

The previous season, Boot has presided over six meetings with Argyle, and his side didn’t lose once.

There were two in Division II, three in the League Cup and another in the FA Cup.

Plymouth’s first visit to Huddersfield came in the FA Cup in 1919-20, when as a Southern League side, they lost 3-1 in round three.
