Jimmy Spender is back at Huddersfield Town after his loan stint at Scunthorpe – and waiting to see where his future lies.

Like midfielder Chris Atkinson, who has returned from Tranmere, the striker will be assessed by boss Mark Robins and his staff.

He could stay and challenge for a Town berth, but Robins will try and organise another loan for him before the end of this month.

Spencer has struggled to find the goal touch at Glanford Park, making 16 appearances, eight of them starts, but scoring only once for the League II club.

Impressive in previous loans at Cheltenham and Morecambe, the 22-year-old has played two Town games, both early last season.

“We have monitored the pair of them while out on loan and we will now sit down and decide what is best for their continued development,” said Robins.

Meanwhile Millwall, who visit the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, have named former Blackpool and Crystal Palace chief Ian Holloway as their new manager.

The struggling Lions have been without a boss since Steve Lomas’s sacking last month (Neil Harris was in temporary charge).

Town, who are monitoring the fitness of 12-goal top scorer James Vaughan (knee) and centre-back Joel Lynch (groin), will have to wait until next week to discover their FA Cup fourth-round visitors.

Charlton and Oxford were due to play their third-round tie in South London tomorrow, but just as on Saturday, the game at The Valley is off because of waterlogging.

It will now take place a week tonight, with round four scheduled for January 25/26.
