HUDDERSFIELD Town striker Robbie Simpson has rejoined League I rivals Oldham Athletic on loan with a view to making the move permanent later this week.

The 26-year-old, who figured in the Latics starting line-up for yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Chesterfield, spent three months at Boundary Park earlier this season, scoring four times in 18 games.

The former Cambridge United player joined Town from Coventry in July 2009, but after an injury-hit first campaign, was loaned to Brentford last season.

He is set to leave Town having scored once in 16 appearances, five of them starts, and has the prospect of a big FA Cup third-round clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Friday night.

In addition, Paul Dickov’s Latics come to the Galpharm for a crunch derby on Saturday week, January 14.
