TWO weeks ago we reported on the issues surrounding the stadium shares.

Since then there has been extensive coverage in this paper and also on the club’s website with a statement from Dean Hoyle on Tuesday.

It is now clear that the agreement to return the shares to the Club has broken down through the intransigence of one individual.

In his Tuesday statement, Dean urged Town fans to understand his position and to support his efforts to regain the stadium shares.

The Supporters Association is fully behind the club chairman and will continue to do what it can to apply pressure for the return of the shares, without which the club’s future is precarious to say the least.

As a 40% shareholder, Kirklees has a significant role to play in re-establishing the stadium as a community facility and fans are urged to contact their local councillors to ask them to do what they can to resolve the situation.

KSDL itself is heavily dependent on the football club and its supporters to make it a viable concern and we believe that it is also helpful for Town fans to pressurise the stadium company by such means as a catering boycott.

Consider the prices – you know it makes sense!

One final word – let’s apply as much pressure as we can but let’s do that away from the pitch.

We all need to get behind our team for 90 minutes to support the push for promotion.

Up the Town!
