LAST WEEK we were Wembley bound, this week it’s all about the Championship!

What a brilliant outcome it was for Dean Hoyle, the club and the fans.

Now manager Simon Grayson has the tough job of putting together a squad capable of competing at a higher level.

After seeing Grayson deliver promotion, surely all Town fans will be backing him as they eagerly await the fixture list on June 18.

That’s when some fans will truly believe that Town are playing Championship football next season.

As the euphoria dies down, though, it’s also time to focus on the outstanding issue of the stadium shares.

Town’s chief executive Nigel Clibbens, has already pointed out some shortcomings with the Stadium’s facilities and further investment is needed.

Surely that will be more forthcoming if the club were to regain its status as a 40% partner?

The Supporters Association will continue to press Kirklees Council to broker a deal to reinstate the original agreement of a 40:40:20 community stadium, while also preparing plans to coordinate actions to put pressure on Kirklees Stadium Development Limited.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new year for HTSA and we are appealing to members, both current and lapsed, to renew their subscriptions as well as trying to persuade new members to join us to add strength to our calls for a return of the shares.

Annual membership is only £5, which can be paid via the website at or by writing to HTSA, c/o Wheawill & Sudworth, PO Box B30, 35 Westgate, Huddersfield, HD1 1PA.
