THERE are many frustrated fans who missed out on tickets for the Arsenal match this Sunday.

Trying to find a fair system for allocating tickets has been something the Patrons Club, the HTSA and club have been discussing for several years.

In this, Arsenal’s policy of making the away club buy all the tickets (sale or return was not an option) for a second block has just added to the problem.

Having lost at Carlisle, been made aware the starting time for coaches would be 5am and that the game was live on TV, the decision not to take the risk was understandable. Had we sold only 2,000 more tickets than the allocation, the club would probably have lost a significant amount on the deal.

No doubt discussions will continue to try and find the best possible ticket allocation policy.

If you have any good ideas please contact either the Patrons Club on info@htafcpatrons.com or HTSA on info@htsa.co.uk

The next Patrons Club meeting is at Canalside next Thursday, February 3, and is the annual quiz.

This will be our second meeting there after a full house when the board attended in January.

As then, we will be providing free sausage and chips to members who arrive around 7.30. Start is 8.00.

All meetings are now members only so please bring your card along. Teams from the club, the media, the HTSA and the Patrons will contest for the Quiz Salver. There are also questions for the audience for small Town-related prizes.

On Patrons Travel, we hope everyone who attended the trip to Walsall enjoyed their day. We are planning another one before the end of the season at either Charlton or Bristol Rovers. If you are interested please get in touch soon.

We are still assessing the best options in terms of timing and cost, with prices still under negotiation, but our trips always include executive travel and lunch.

It will be fantastic value as always because we only aim to cover our costs. If you are interested in either or both options please call Martin on 01484 714287 daytime or email travel@htafcpatrons.com with all your contact details, including your membership number. Non-Patrons will be allowed if the coach isn’t full. We can generally arrange for our more far-flung Patrons to meet us at the venue for lunch, too, so let us know if that idea appeals.

Finally, a reminder to Town fans going to Exeter on February 5 that there are still seats available on the HTSA coach. Please call Sally on 07926 165863 or email travel@htsa.co.uk
