TOWN have bagged some fresh signings for the new season.

First of all, we welcome back former Town hero Jon Stead who has signed a two-year deal after leaving Bristol City.

We all know about Jon’s goal scoring record from his initial spell at the Terriers and we wish the local lad all the very best on his return to the club.

The other new additions are Adam Hammill from Wolves and Martin Paterson from Burnley.

We’re all aware of what a skilful winger Adam is from his time on loan at Town last season, so we can look forward to exciting performances ahead with his trickery, pace and contribution to the team.

We also give a warm welcome to Martin, who has had Premiership experience with the Lancashire outfit , and was top scorer for the Clarets in 2008-09 season hitting the net 19 times.

Last weekend saw the Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters Federation hold a joint summit at Football Association’s National Development Centre, at St George’s Park in Burton.

The event welcomed fans from around Britain including delegates representing supporters' trusts and groups across Europe and representing HTSA were Robert Pepper and Rachael Gomersal.

The event was very beneficial, particularly the SLO (Supporters Liaison Officer) workshop.

Following that was a Championship Trust meeting which focussed on agreeing for a letter to be sent to the Sports Minister, pointing out the inequalities of the Premier Leagues solidarity payments to the Football League and asking for the Government to put pressure on the FA to recover its position as the game’s controlling authority.
