THE season may be over but the summer months will be a busy time for the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association.

On Sunday there is an enterprising fund-raising effort to support the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

There will be a 5-a-side Walking Football Tournament, which is much more demanding than you might think – are you up to it?

The event will take place at Soccer City, Waterloo, from 1pm, involving squads of 6-8, targeted to have at least one player over 45 and/or a female.

To arrange a last minute entry, please contact John Sealey on 07973 745943 or why not just come along for a fun-day out with a chance to win a raffle prize or buy yourself a bargain T-shirt?

The next event on the horizon is the national Supporters Summit conference.

This will take place on Saturday, June 22nd at St George’s Park near Burton-on-Trent, the FA’s new training centre, and is to be addressed by David Bernstein, the recently-appointed FA chairman. Tickets for the event are only £15 and include a free tour of St George’s Park.

The event will be hosted jointly by Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters Federation, and will see a series of workshops covering issues from the FSF’s campaign on cutting the cost of away ticket prices, to the sustainability of football, protecting football stadia, and fan engagement. For booking and more detailed session information, please go to: http://www.supporterssummit.co.uk

This is a great opportunity to join in the key debates involving all true supporters, described by David Bernstein as: “One of the vital parts that make our national game what it is”.
