THE January transfer window closes tonight and like fans all over the country, Huddersfield Town supporters are keen to see whether there will be any business before the 11.00 deadline.

Keeping hold of Jordan Rhodes will be at the forefront of their thoughts, and the Galpharm club have so far stood firm on their pledge to keep the prolific striker.

There have been a string of phone calls about the former Ipswich man, who netted his 29th goal of the campaign in Saturdays 1-1 draw at Tranmere.

But all potential suitors have been politely rebuffed with Rhodes remaining to keep firing Towns bid for Championship football.

However it does seem that winger Donal McDermott could be on his way out of the Galpharm, just six months after arriving from Manchester City.

The Irishman is believed to be in talks with League I rivals Bournemouth over a switch to the South coast.

The 22-year-old arrived at the Galpharm from Manchester City in the close-season, but has struggled to force his way into Lee Clark's side on a regular basis.

McDermott, who has made 11 starts and three substitute appearances, had a spell on loan at Bournemouth last season.

The Dean Court club are cash rich after new investment, and yesterday signed Crawley Town striker Matt Tubbs.

With Gary Roberts recovering from surgery on a double hernia, McDermott's departure would leave Town light on widemen.

Having been linked with Stokes Ben Marshall, who has joined Leicester, Charlton's Danny Green has been mentioned as a possible Town target.

The 23-year-old was with Charlton as a child, but was released, and after stints with Northampton and Nottingham Forest, ended up paying non-league football for Bishops Stortford.

Dagenham and Redbridge signed him in 2009 he caught the eye when playing against Town last season and he returned  to Charlton in the summer.

Green has made 21 starts and four substitute appearances for the League I leaders, socring three goals, including the winner at Exeter on Saturday.

Town boss Clark has said he will consider loaning certain players, and it could be that centre-back Nathan Clarke returns for a second spell at Oldham.

The Boundary Park club yesterday completed the permanent signing of Town striker Robbie Simpson.

Town are also being linked with Falkirks Scottish centre-back Murray Wallace and Crystal Palace's Irish frontman Sean Scannell.

Former Rangers junior Wallace, 19, is said to be interesting Ipswich and Brighton as well while Scannell, 21 and a Republic of Ireland B international, made his Palace debut in 2007.

Some reports suggest the Galpharm club have bid £750,000 for a player who has played 128 times for the Londoners.
