Huddersfield Town remain calm in the midst of speculation over midfield prospect Philip Billing as they push ahead with moves to bring in Liverpool keeper Danny Ward and Chelsea forward Kasey Palmer on loan.

But sources suggest rumours over Hoffenheim striker Mark Uth and Manchester United frontman Will Keane have less substance, with another keeper and a No10 the top priorities for boss David Wagner, who has already made 10 senior signings.

They include keeper Joel Coleman from Oldham Athletic and forward Jack Payne from Southend United.

Town are playing the waiting game over both Ward, who has been with Wales at Euro 2016 and has also been linked with Celtic, and Palmer, who was a member of England Under 21s’ successful Toulon Tournament squad.

Former Wrexham player Ward, 23, is set to sign a new long-term Liverpool contract before his move to the John Smith’s Stadium is rubber-stamped.

New Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers knows him well from his time at the Anfield helm.

Current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, a close friend of Wagner, sees Ward, who has made two first-team appearances, as a future Reds keeper.

But he has signed German Loris Karius from Mainz and believes the existing stopper needs more experience of first-team football, with the Championship a suitable level after last season’s successful stint in Scotland with Aberdeen.

Liverpool have just loaned out one of their other keepers, 20-year-old Ryan Fulton, to Chesterfield.

Chelsea want 19-year-old Palmer to push on after shining at Under 21 level, and with plenty of interest in him, are considering which club best suits his needs.

Supposed Premier League interest in Billing is nothing new.

The 6ft 5in Dane, who turned 20 last month, has previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.

West Brom are the latest supposed suitors of the former Esbjerg player, who joined Town in 2013 and featured in Sunday’s training-ground friendly win over Accrington Stanley.

Town have the former Denmark Under 21 international, who has made 14 first-team appearances, under contract until 2020, with a further year’s option in the club’s favour.

Uth, 24, joined German top-flight side Hoffenheim from Holland’s Heerenveen in 2015 and is under contract until 2018.

Before that he had two spells at home-city club FC Koln as well as playing for their lower-level neighbours Langel and Viktoria.

Old Trafford product Keane, 23, has had previous loans at Wigan Athletic, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End.

A former England Under 21 cap, he is the twin brother of Burnley and ex-Manchester United defender Michael.

Under contract until 2018, his three first-team appearances for United have all been from the bench.
