HUDDERSFIELD Town were left in the dark last night as a power failure hit their home FA Youth Cup second round tie with Atherstone Town.
The cup clash was called off for a second time – last week’s scheduled meeting being called off due to heavy rain – and as yet no new date has been set.
The winners of the tie face an away trip to Portsmouth in the third round to be played by December 12.
A statement from the club said: “Due to a major power outage at the Galpharm Stadium the game was in serious doubt in the afternoon. Engineers were working on the problem, but the game had to postponed due to a massive power failure.”
Town manager Lee Clark was not expecting to make changes to his personnel as the deadline for loan transfers loomed today.
“There is nothing in the pipeline just at this time,” said Clark.
However, he is in the position to name an unchanged line up again for Saturday’s FA Cup second round clash away at Port Vale reporting that there were ‘no injury problems’ after Tuesday night’s 2-1 away League I defeat at Swindon Town.
