Huddersfield Town are relishing the prospect of facing either Leicester City or Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup fifth round after a stunning extra-time victory at West Bromwich Albion.

Goals from Ben Atkinson, Jake Charles, Brad Carroll and Regan Booty – son of former player and coach Martyn Booty – gave Frankie Bunn’s Under 18s a superb 4-2 success at The Hawthorns.

Town, who previously beat Luton Town, must now wait until tomorrow night to find out who their next opponents will be at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Leicester v Manchester United tie is at the King Power Stadium.

“I thought we were the better side against a category one, Premier League club,” said Bunn, whose side led 1-0 in normal time until a late equaliser sent the tie into another 30 minutes.

“We mixed it up and played some good stuff and I think our fitness showed – at the end four or five of their lads went down with cramp and we continued.”

Bunn says the youngsters deserve a big home tie at the next stage and will be looking forward to it, whether the opposition are in blue or red.

“We showed in last season’s Youth Cup run that we have a never-say-die attitude and we keep going until the end,” added Bunn.

“It was a great occasion to go to a Premier League ground and play under the floodlights and the result was terrific. Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve in football, but this time I think we did.”
