ALEX SMITHIES
Made a vital second-half save from Redmond and was pretty calm in dealing with deliveries into the penalty box. 7

PAUL DIXON
Came to the rescue when Redmond burst through on 66 minutes but in general, seems low on confidence. 5

JACK HUNT
Caught out in the build-up to the Birmingham goal, but otherwise defended solidly and worked hard. 6

ANTHONY GERRARD
Solid enough in the challenge, both aerially and on the ground, but his passing was below par. 6

PETER CLARKE
The industrious captain was fully committed and made some important tackles and blocks. 7

NEIL DANNS
An encouraging debut and having started on the right, looked strong when moved into the centre of midfield. 7

ADAM CLAYTON
His approach was as gritty as ever, but has produced more influential performances than this one. 6

OLIVER NORWOOD
Okay early on, but lost his way as the game progressed, and at present, looks to be struggling for form. 5

SEAN SCANNELL
Came close to a goal and was lively down the left, but the final delivery failed to match his deft approach play. 7

JERMAINE BECKFORD
Lively at Charlton the week before, he was off key in this clash and unable to take a number of decent chances. 5

JAMES VAUGHAN
A frustrating afternoon for the frontman, who had some opportunities, but never really got into this game. 5

Substitutes:
Adam Hammill(for Norwood, 57mins) 7;
Alan Lee (forVaughan, 69mins) 6;
Lee Novak (for Dixon, 90mins) 5.

Fans' match reports

Good debut from Danns, Scannell did well also. A lot to work on in terms of passing and playing out from the back. Too much aimless long ball. James, Armitage Bridge

Very disappointed with performance, any football was played by Birmingham. Are the players fit? Beckford was awful, often giving the ball away. I hope we get Hammill back, he was the only one showing determination - and he scored a brilliant goal. Stuart, Ossett

Another complete waste of a Saturday afternoon. What has changed since the sacking of L Clark? We're still too slow and methodical, come on Grayson, get it sorted. Give us something to cheer about. Clem, Shelley

Another lethargic and disappointing performance. Can't see where next 3 points is going to come from! Nick, Upperthong

Great saves from Butland stopped Town from taking all three points. It was definitely a game between two struggling sides. Lee Clark's post-match comments prove he's still deluded. Tony, Golcar

Smithies 7: decent effort and crucial second half save. Drank 3 bottles of water and spent 7 minutes taking goal kicks! Hunt 6: Got forward at times and put the effort in. Concerned about his temprament at times (mouthing off to the skipper etc). Dixon 4: I wanted him back in the team but he was poor today. Gave the winger too much space all game. Willing to get forward though and a couple of decent crosses. Clarke 6: Captain's shift as usual but poor distribution (as usual!). Gerrard 6: Did okay. Danns 6: showed enough to be worth another start as should improve fitness wise for the recent outing. By his own admission he is a centre midfielder though, so hope Grayson plays him there next time and plays two 'proper' wingers. Clayton 7: Mr Reliable generally, but often plays too deep and does not get forward quick enough for the break away attacks. Scannell 8: MOTM by a mile. Pace, tricks, willingness put others to shame. Vaughan 5: Didn't really get the rub of the green and didn't link up with Beckford well today. Poor partnership today. Beckford 3: Lazy and sulky individual when things not going his way. To say he has tattoos all over his neck he is as soft as sugar in a challenge! Hammill 7: Brilliant goal. Put the effort in but would like to see better link up play, one twos, assists etc. Hope he doesn't over celebrate that goal Saturday night! Lee 7: Good effort again and a sub appearance that lifts the team a little. Novak 6: Should have been brought on earlier for Beckford so he had time to make an impact and chase lost causes. Beckford did neither. NDancer, Huddersfield.

Another very mediocre performance.Lacking confidence and commitment. Also players do not look fit. A moment of shear genius saved a point but overall not good enough.Hamill and Lee coming on as subs saved the day but starting 11 lacking in far too many areas. Tony, Liversedge

Inept all over the park need to go back to passing the football. Hoof ball is for League 1 where we will be if it doesn't change. Gavin, Golcar

Danns in centre midfield plz. Cat, Banbury

Staggeringly poor performance yet Butland had to make a great save in the first half and another in the secong before Hamill rescued the point. Had Town players put as much effort into the game as they did celebrating the goal then the late equaliser would not have been needed. Only Scannell - in the second half - showed any desire or urgency. A relegation struggle looks likely. Ian. Fartown.

No Passion, no commitment. You have the ball I will stand and watch attitude. Things have got to change and fast. Hammill might have scored but he is not the answer. We want a midfielder who will support the front two and we need far better service to them. They will score if given service. David, Huddersfield

Ok Simon, time for the strong medicine. No more of the post match comments like " thought we played well.......etc.etc." Martin, Outlane.

We need to sort the gaps between defence and midfield out!! we win 90% of high balls and all PC and AG were doing is heading it to the Birmingham midfield!! who were a bit sharper then us to say the least! We are in a low place which is a shame :( btw how poor was the Birmingham away support 1000? Craig, Lincoln

Another poor performance, got out of jail at the end but it is papering over quite a few cracks. The passing and movement is poor, confidence levels look low.Scannell stood out,the rest lacked a spark. Simon,Salendine Nook

Tight game. Town gave away a poor goal! Second half thought we deserved a draw with a fantastic Goal. Thought Alan Lee made the difference when he came on. Got to say good substitutions by the manager. HTFCMIN, Leeds.

Town played much better in the first half, but started to lose confidence after Birminghams goal. A lot of credit must go to Sean Scannell, he was man of the match for me. Laura, Huddersfield

With a couple of exceptions not competing or playing well. Still using the "anywhere will do" approach, when trying to get the ball up field. Distribution from most players very poor. Kev, Sowerby Bridge

Butland's saves were critical. Cuckooolgy, Huddersfield

A dire performance against poor opposition, absolutely no movement off the ball, Scannell swamped by Birmingham markers and given no support. Only when Hammill came on and we went with two wingers did we stretch their defence. The run-in to May looks like being a long and hard one. Trojanhorse, Kirkburton

Another dismal display with little sign of teamwork or passing ability.Only bright spot a good goal by a player who is no longer with us! Roger, Menston

lazy lazy team. something needs addressing that will instill drive and determination into these overpaid priviledged under-achievers. Kev, Lindley

Bring back Gary Roberts. Russell, Calder Valley

A fair result,Town played better in the first half than for sometime, but the second half was dreadful. We need fullbacks who know how to defend, Dixon was comletely out of his depth. Brian, Brighouse.

Two new signings needed 1 a manager with a plan 2 fitness coach the players are good enough just need someone to get them to play together. Graham, Holmfirth

A deserved point in the end, but performance lacking spark against a poor side. Colin, Lepton.

Yet more long ball rubbish. Why do we look like a team that has no leadership, no tactics and no pattern of play? What do the coaching staff do all week when they send out a team that has no idea how to string two passes together and constantly hoofs the ball long because nobody has an idea what the manager wants them to do! Mark, Kirkburton

This team is getting lazier by the game, overpaid under achievers. No heart, no desire and no passion should mean no pay. Kevin, Lindley
