HUDDERSFIELD Town's pre-season friendly against Hull City has been called off.

The match, due to be played on Wednesday, July 28, was called off this afternoon.

Huddersfield Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens said: "Having completed our pre-season schedule over two months ago, we are all very disappointed that the pre-season friendly against Hull City will not take place.

"A lot of hard work has gone in behind the scenes in preparation for this fixture - programmes have been written and hospitality places and tickets have been sold - and we are determined it shouldn't go to waste, so we are quickly seeking another opponent to fill the void.

"However, given the short notice and the fact that most clubs will have mapped out their pre-season schedules well in advance, there is no guarantee this will be possible.

"All football clubs know what is required in arranging a fixture of this nature and it is rare they are cancelled; I am sure Hull City would not have done this unless it was absolutely necessary and unavoidable."

If you have bought a ticket for the Hull City game, you can either return it to the Galpharm Ticket Office to receive a full refund or retain it pending further news regarding another fixture.
