Huddersfield Town entertain Leeds United in the early kick-off on Saturday afternoon as they look for a fourth win in their last five league games at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Terriers will also have the opportunity to get revenge on their West Yorkshire neighbours after going down 3-0 at Elland Road in September in only manager Chris Powell's third game in charge.

But Powell and his side will be boosted by last weekend's 1-0 triumph at relegation-threatened Wigan Athletic and can move up to a season-high position of 10th should they secure all three points against Neil Redfearn's men .

But what are the key questions for Town ahead of this weekend's derby clash?

Here are just some things to think about as Powell's men look to secure back-to-back league wins for only the third time this season.

Can Town erase their scars from THAT Elland Road defeat?

No-one needs reminding of just how much the 3-0 thrashing hurt everyone associated with Town in Leeds' own back yard and, as Chris Powell pointed out in his pre-match press conference, it resembled the nadir of his reign to date.

What followed that embarrassing, pitiful loss was a stunning run of form which saw the Terriers go seven unbeaten - their longest run in the second tier since returning in 2012 - and develop a brand of football under the new regime which was a far cry from a rather stale end to last season under Mark Robins.

Mixed form followed that, but Powell has masterminded a stunning 13-point swing on the West Yorkshire neighbours since that chastening day at Elland Road and he more than anyone will be hellbent on ensuring that continues.

It was clear how much that defeat impacted on the manager and convinced him of certain players' futures, including Lee Peltier and Jon Stead, as well as opening his eyes to the task that he faced at the time.

It did not prove insurmountable, as the sides' current league positions reflect, but this feels like the litmus test for a squad whose confidence has already been knocked at Norwich City and at home to Birmingham City and Reading.

The manager, players and supporters were put through the mill that day so this will be as much a psychological barrier as anything else and one Town are fully capable of overcoming if the form guide rings true.

Will David Edgar repeat his DW Stadium heroics?

One of the most pleasing aspects of the win at Wigan last weekend was the way David Edgar slotted so seamlessly into the Terriers midfield and carried out a diligent defensive job with the minimum of fuss.

The Canadian will have used his first full week with the club to really get up to speed with his new teammates and improve on his fitness, after complaining of cramp midway through the second half at the DW in a match played at a high-speed tempo.

But with Jonathan Hogg set to miss out once more through a thigh injury, Edgar will once again be expected to deputise in a defensive midfield role and one he appeared to relish against the Latics.

Leeds set up in a 4-2-3-1 against Bournemouth last time out and, though that may have been employed to counter the Cherries' wealth of attacking threats, Edgar will most likely be tasked with repelling Rodolph Austin.

Austin ran riot in the Elland Road clash earlier in the season and Town visibly lacked a steely defensive resolve to thwart him whereas now they boast a player who - if his debut is anything to go on - has the attributes to make Powell's men more competitive in the midfield challenges.

Can Chris Powell mastermind another clean sheet?

It was put to the manager when he faced the media that Town have failed to keep consecutive clean sheets so far this season but suggested it is certainly something his side should be targeting.

Leeds and Derby County managed to put three past Town after keeping out Wigan and Nottingham Forest, while Blackpool netted twice and Bolton Wanderers just the once following matches against Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Those clean sheets have been a rare source of comfort for Powell this season and the defensive flaws have been well documented, so to overcome an inability to this point to keep sides at bay in succession would be the perfect tonic.

Town were helped, admittedly, by a toothless Wigan display which saw everything go through an exasperated James McClean and players around him who looked unsure of their roles, but it still required an expert show of resilience, determination and intelligence to foil Malky Mackay's side.

Powell has often opted to go for the jugular early on at home and really take the game to the opposition and that is not expected to change, but he will hope he now has sufficient quality and the protection of Edgar at the back to make this a far more memorable derby outcome than the one four months ago.
