David Wagner is looking for his first back-to-back wins since taking over at Huddersfield Town.

Wolves are the opposition and Town will be looking to build on a fine win at Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Kenny Jackett's side haven't won in the last five, but the Wolves boss warned that his side are a different proposition away from home.

Here are three key individual battles to determine whether Town can tame their opponents' bite...

Mark Hudson v Joe Mason

Sky Bet Championship - Nottingham Forest (0) v Huddersfield Town (2) - Mark Hudson.

After Benik Afobe packed his bags and took his goals to the Premier League with Bournemouth in January, Wolves moved quickly to bring in Joe Mason from Cardiff - charged with emulating the feats of the club’s top scorer so far this term.

One start and one sub in a Wolves shirt have yielded two goals for the 24-year-old, and he will surely fancy his chances of extending that in Yorkshire.

The striker has an enviable record against Town - four goals in five league games against Huddersfield in his professional career to date.

In the absence of second top scorer, James Henry, one of five senior players ruled out by Kenny Jackett, the goal burden is likely to fall heavily on Mason.

Town skipper Mark Hudson made a welcome return last weekend after a two game suspension, and the defence immediately looked more organised with him back at its heart next to Joel Lynch. A first clean sheet since January 12 against Charlton Athletic was richly deserved.

Hudson will hope to make it back-to-back shutouts, and his efforts in keeping Mason on a tight leash will be key.

Nahki Wells v Danny Batth

Sky Bet Championship - Preston NE (2) v Huddersfield Town (1) - Nahki Wells goal.

Virtually ever-present for Wolves this term, Danny Batth’s stock has risen considerably in the last two and a half seasons after learning his trade with a succession of spells at Sheffield United and Wednesday.

Now a mainstay under Kenny Jackett, he reached his century of Wolves appearances by the age of 24, and has been a rock at the centre of defence all season since returning from a length injury lay-off last September.

He will be counting on that wealth of experience to limit the influence of Nahki Wells, Town’s top scorer and main frontman.

Chasing a target of 20 goals for the campaign, Wells was considerably boosted by a post-Christmas spurt, when he netted five times in five games following Santa’s visit.

Wagner’s system demands a high workload for the striker heading the 4-2-3-1 line-up and Nahki has obliged, but he’ll be desperate to add a goal that helps Town to all three points - his last couple against Cardiff and Preston have proved mere consolation.

Jonathan Hogg v Conor Coady

Birmingham City v Wolverhampton Wanderers. Action from St Andrews. Demarai Gray takes on Conor Coady

Sold by Town last summer, this will be Conor Coady’s first visit to the John Smith’s Stadium since swapping blue and white stripes for old gold.

He hasn’t yet hit the heights of last season with Town, but will no doubt have a point to prove on his old stomping ground - while Town fans have memories of being stung by a former player earlier this season.

Adam Clayton scored his first Middlesbrough goal of 2015/16 under ten minutes into the contest last November, and the Huddersfield faithful will be desperate to avoid a similar scenario.

On the opposite side of the fence is Jonathan Hogg, who will be patrolling Town’s engine room and vying with Coady for control of the midfield areas.

Hogg is in excellent form and had another standout game against Forest last weekend. Providing the steel and nous to Philip Billing’s youthful energy, the partnership has been fruitful for Town. If Hogg can retain those standards heading into this game he will back himself to limit Coady’s influence, gain the upper hand and help Town to a welcome victory.
