BENIK AFOBE is desperate to repay Lee Clark’s faith by firing Huddersfield Town to Old Trafford.

The on-loan Arsenal striker is enjoying his first taste if play-off football, having made his 33rd appearance at Bournemouth on Saturday.

He’s hoping to add to that tally, and his eight goals, in tonight’s semi-final second leg, and would love a second appearance at Manchester United’s famous home, venue for the May 29 final.

“I played there for Arsenal in the final of an Under 16 tournament when I was only 13,” recalled the England junior ace, now 18.

“We were up against the likes of Manchester United, Inter Milan, Juventus and Paris SG, and we reached the final against Javier Hernandez’s old team Chivas.

“We had as good side, including the likes of Jay Thomas, Sanchez Watt and Jack Wilshere, but they beat us 2-1.

“The match was watched by about 10,000, which seemed a huge crowd to me at the time, so to get back there and play in front of 50,000 or more would be amazing.

“We know we have a tough test in store tonight, but we’re happy with the result in the first leg, and now it’s all down to us really.”

Afobe added: “I’ve had a great time here.

“The original loan was for one month only, so to still be here and to have played so many matches is fantastic.

“Arsenal keep in close touch with both myself and Huddersfield and I know they are happy with the way things have gone.

“I’ve learned an awful lot, and to be involved in a play-off final at Old Trafford would be a career highlight.”
