TOWN boss Lee Clark is looking for a ‘brave’ and attacking performance from his side against the Lions.

Millwall visit the Galpharm tomorrow riding high in fifth place, but Clark is determined his side will not back down against a side who have an impressive away record that has made them serious play-off candidates.

Clark was frustrated by Town’s failure to take three points from Tuesday night’s clash with Colchester when a late Dean Hammond free kick allowed the Essex side to snatch a point from a 2-2 draw.

Clark felt his side had not shown a ‘killer’ touch and he will be impressing on his players that to tame the Lions they must be prepared to go on the attack.

“I would have said the same if we had won the Colchester game 2-1 because, even without them scoring, I would still have been making the point that we were dropping too deep,” said Clark.

“We weren’t providing enough options for the man on the ball and we weren’t passing the ball well.

“I have said to the players that we cannot settle for 1-0 or 2-1, you have to go and get three or four – it is the only way to play.

“You have to take the game to the opposition and put them on the back foot.

“We have got to move the ball, we have got to want the ball.

“I think the team and the players are good enough to close games out, but a factor is bravery and when I say bravery I don’t mean running around getting unnecessary yellow cards – bravery is going and getting the ball.

“Players need to accept that if they have made a mistake they need to go and win the ball again and again because if you get the ball five times you may make four mistakes but the fifth time might just be the one to open the way and produce a goal.

“That’s being brave, it’s all about doing the right things and I want to see us play football that way.”

Millwall are set to field the same line-up as they go into their second away outing of the week.

A Gary Alexander strike earned the Lions a 1-0 win over Southend and manager Kenny Jackett will keep faith with the squad that registered their eighth win on their travels at Roots Hall.

It means that Millwall will continue with midfielder Nadjim Abdou in the defensive line.

The 25-year-old Frenchman was called into the side after Jackett decided to relegate Richard Duffy, a free transfer from Premier League side Portsmouth during the transfer window, to the bench.

Millwall: Forde, Abdou, Frampton, Bolder, Whitehead, Craig, Martin, Laird, Alexander, Grimes, Henry. Subs: Barron, Harris, Brkovic, Duffy, Pidgeley.
