TOWN boss Lee Clark admitted time is running out on his side’s push for the play-offs.

Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Millwall left Town eight points off the pace and tonight’s meeting with third in the table Milton Keynes Dons is a ‘must-win’ if Clark’s side are going to challenge for a top six slot.

With just 11 games remaining Clark accepts that something has to happen sooner rather than later for Town.

“It will take one hell of an effort to get into the play-offs now,” said Clark.

“But we will not give up until it is mathematically impossible.

“However, with each game that we don’t pick up maximum points it becomes that much harder.

“We will have to see how things go, but it might be that now is the time to look at some of the other lads in the squad who haven’t had much of a chance up until now.”

Town’s major doubt going into the game was the fitness of midfielder Anthony Pilkington who picked up an ankle injury in Saturday’s home defeat.

Boss Lee Clark remained hopeful that the 20-year-old would be ready for the clash at StadiumMK.
