JORDAN RHODES' hopes of an Olympic call-up could rest on Daniel Sturridge's performances on the training pitch.
The Chelsea forward has now joined up with the Team GB squad after a spell in hospital with viral meningitis.
Coach Stuart Pearce said: “I have got to be 100% sure in my mind that Daniel is fit enough and can see out a tournament.”
Town striker Rhodes is on the stand-by list after catching the eye with 40 goals for his club and eight for Scotland Under 21s last season.
Pearce's side have a friendly against Brazil at Middlesbrough on Friday before their opening game against Senegal at Old Trafford on Thursday week, July 26.
