HUDDERSFIELD Town striker Jordan Rhodes has been named League I's player of the month for December.

The Scottish international bagged six goals in the month - including the awesome foursome in the 4-4 draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

He beat Wycombe Wanderers striker Marcelo Trotta, who is on loan from Fulham, Sheffield United centre back Neill Collins and Stevenage midfielder Michael Bostwick to the prize.

Sheffield United's Danny Wilson won manager of the month.

Town boss Lee Clark said: "I am not surprised that Jordan has won the award as he was outstanding last month.

"It is not just his goals - his overall performances have been of the highest quality. He has looked like an international player.

"I believe he is responding to all the nice things being said about him and the speculation linking him with clubs in the higher leagues. We are all delighted for him."

Sky Sports’ Football League expert Peter Beagrie sits on the npower Player of the Month judging panel.

He said: "Jordan continued to enhance his growing reputation with another glut of goals last month.

"His development has been frighteningly quick and he already looks like a top quality player. To have reached 20 league goals at this stage in the season is an exceptional achievement."
