OLDHAM Athletic are still in the hunt for Huddersfield Town's Nathan Clarke - but finance could scupper the deal

Boundary Park boss Paul Dickov explained that the Lancashire club wanted Clarke, 28, back after he made 20 appearances during a successful loan spell which ended at New Year.

He added: "The main thing is financial again. Nathan is on a decent wage there and if he can sort something out at his end with Huddersfield, there is a good chance it will be done.

"We are not in a position to pay the wages that the likes of Huddersfield pay their players. We are still speaking to Nathan about possibly bringing him back in and one or two others maybe.

"Finances will dictate what we can and can't do. That isn't a moan from me and I am pleased with what I have got. If we can add a bit of quality to the squad, we will try."
