LEE PELTIER shrugged off the disappointment of Town being held 0-0 at home to Brentford and insisted: “We’re still on track.”

Lee Clark’s side kept their first clean sheet of the season only to drop their first points at the Galpharm, where 12,020 watched as Town fell a place to fourth in League I.

“It’s disappointing not to score, because the goals have been coming thick and fast for us, but very few teams hit the net week in, week out,” said right-back Peltier, pictured.

“We created chances, and on another day, we would have won this game, but it wasn’t to be, and it wasn’t a defeat.

“We did a solid job defensively, which is pleasing and something we can build on, we’re still unbeaten at home and we’re still averaging two points a game, which will keep us on course for success this season.

“We’re all disappointed not to have won, which shows how high the standards we have set for ourselves are, but it’s far from the end of the world, and having won at MK Dons, we’ll go to Millwall this Saturday in a positive frame of mind.”

Former Liverpool and Yeovil player Peltier gave praise to Brentford, adding: “You can’t fault their workrate and they came here with a gameplan and made life hard for us.

“They had a couple of decent opportunities, but so did we, and overall, we probably balanced each other out.”
