IN-FORM Anthony Pilkington aims to outgun one of League I’s top marksmen tonight as Town target a win bonus at Bristol Rovers.

The 20-year-old was promoted to lead the attack in the 1-0 win at Hereford and will tonight go head-to-head with Rovers’ 25-goal hitman Rickie Lambert.

Memorial Ground favourite Lambert was on Town’s shopping list at the same time as Pilkington, who has seven goals for the season scored mostly from out wide.

“I’m pleased with the way things are going and to end that poor run has done everyone good,” said Pilkington.

“My only gripe personally at the moment is that I’d like to score a few more goals, but I know they will come.

“I’ve settled in well, the club and the management are great and with the people they are talking about bringing in, I think we are in for some successful times.”

Manager Lee Clark reported a clean bill of health in the squad for tonight.

“The lads are confident and looking forward to the match,” he said. “Lambert is the big danger, his goals tell you that, but we know we can play as well.”
