HUDDERSFIELD Town fans will get the chance to see all six new signings at both AFC Emley tomorrow (7.00) and Wakefield FC on Saturday (3.00).

Boss Lee Clark – who is being linked with interest in Nottingham Forest striker Joe Garner – plans to take his entire squad including Joey Gudjonsson (pictured) to both the Welfare Ground and College Grove, with players having a maximum of 45 minutes in each of the opening friendlies.

"The lads have been working very well so far, and this is a chance for them to continue sharpening up and get a feel for the football again," said Clark.

The Galpharm squad return from their Cheshire training camp this evening and the manager says the players are looking forward to their first public work-outs.

"The opening friendlies are another sign that the competitive games are getting closer and closer," said Clark, whose side begin their League I campaign at Notts County on Saturday, August 7.

"At this stage it’s all about fitness and familiarisation, and we probably won’t start looking at the tactical side of things until the Bury game (at Gigg Lane a week on Saturday)."

Town have 10 friendlies in all and Clark added: "We’ve tried to keep all our games within easy travelling distance for the fans.

"We have good relationships with both Emley and Wakefield, and while giving them a financial boost, it’s also an opportunity for our supporters to see the new signings."

Goalkeeper Ian Bennett, defenders Gary Naysmith (pictured) and Jamie McCombe, midfielders Scott Arfield and Joey Gudjonsson and Derby loan winger Lee Croft are the new faces.

And Clark, who has been linked with Leicester striker Steve Howard as well, added: "We’re working on a couple more deals, although we won’t be rushed into anything."

Admission at Emley is £6 adults and £3 concessions, while at Wakefield, where the main match is preceded by a meeting of the two club’s academy teams, it’s £10 adults and £5 concessions.
