HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Mark Robins is keeping the new Financial Fair Play rules firmly in mind as he builds a squad for the new Championship campaign.

Clubs are limited to losses of £4m without penalty, and the boss is delighted to have brought in Jon Stead for nothing and Adam Hammill for a nominal fee.

"Jon's deal represents excellent value for the club in terms of FFP and the fact hes available on a free transfer after coming out of contract at Bristol," said Robins.

"Likewise with Adam, we have been patient to make sure the deal is right for the club, and that policy will continue."

Town chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: "We are working very hard behind the scenes on recruitment.

"It would be very easy to shout about potential signings and end up with egg on your face.

"We need to ensure we get the targets we all want. If this takes a while it's no concern."
