Huddersfield Town's weekend opponents Sheffield Wednesday have completed the loan signing of Watford midfielder Lewis McGugan.
The ex-Nottingham Forest man could be set for a debut against the Terriers on Saturday in the televised Yorkshire derby.
The 26-year-old has penned a short-term deal until January 1 with the struggling Owls as manager Stuart Gray looks for a first win in nine league games from his side at the John Smith's Stadium this weekend.
McGugan, who has featured just seven times for the Hornets in 2014/2015, made over 200 appearances for former club Forest and netted 44 times, but has struggled to secure a first-team place at Vicarage Road this season.
He will now hope for more game time at Hillsborough, where he joins a side languishing in 13th and in desperate need of a lift after a worrying run of form which has seen them score just twice in their last seven games.
McGugan told his new loan club's website: “I’m pleased to sign. This is a great club and a great chance for me to play games and help the team move forward.
“I’ve not played as many games as I want this season so I need to get back out there and perform.
“The main thing is the team and helping them progress. If I can score some goals and help add points to the board, then great.
“I see myself very much as an attacking midfield player and goals have been a massive part of my career.
“I want to bring that to Sheffield Wednesday.”
