Huddersfield Town's Young Terriers will have a different base for this season – The Zone.

The group for the club’s youngest supporters – boys and girls aged eight to 13 are welcome to join – have gathered at various venues down the years but will now be at The Zone off St Andrew’s Road.

They will meet this Saturday before the Bournemouth match at 12.30 for games of five-a-side and then lunch.

Everyone will receive a free match programme and then they will have safe, secure, group seating in the John Smith’s Stadium when Mark Robins’ side launch their 2014-15 Championship campaign.

“It’s great for our members we will now be meeting at The Zone and we would welcome any new members to come and join us,” said committee member Steve Brooks.

“The Young Terriers is a great way to start supporting Town, to have some fun and to meet with friends on every home Saturday in the season.

“We also have a number of away trip in the pipeline, we have a Christmas Party and End of Season party, when members get to meet the players, and we have always tried to keep the costs low.

“Season-card holders can come to our get-togethers at The Zone for just £7m while it’s £15 for non-season card holders.”

Membership of the Young Terriers stands at around 80, although about half that number regularly attend the pre-game meetings. Parents are asked to collect their children after each game.

“It’s a fun activity for all the youngsters and they get to watch Town in a safe, group environment,” added Brooks.

“We want as many youngsters to get involved as possible and it’s a big help if they are able to play football, so they can join in the five-a-sides.

“It has been proven down the years that many of our members become life-long Town supporters in addition to loving their football generally, and we are hoping this season will be successful for both Town and the Young Terriers.”
