ONE of the biggest matches in Millwall’s history took place in Huddersfield – but didn’t involve Town!

Way back in 1937, the club, founded by jam factory workers in 1885, made the record books by becoming the first from the original Division III (now League I) to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Leeds Road was selected to stage the fifth of its six semis, and 62,813 saw the Londoners, who included former Town star Dave Mangnall, beaten 2-1 by Sunderland.

Revenge finally arrived in 2004 when a goal from Tim Cahill, above, meant Millwall beat Sunderland 1-0 at Old Trafford to make the FA Cup final.
