TRIALIST Ben Hunter won't be wearing blue and white stripes next season.

But Town boss Peter Jackson believes the Doncaster-born striker could be a success in Major League Soccer.

The 21-year-old, who scored for Town Reserves in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Port Vale, has a contract offer from Columbus Crew.

They saw him first hand on the US college circuit.

"Ben has a deal waiting for him in America and I couldn't guarantee things would work out here for him," said Jackson.
