A SOCCER fan has threatened to abandon the Galpharm Stadium because of a parking dispute.
Long-time Town supporter Claire Palmer is angry that parking wardens are issuing tickets to match day traffic on Great Northern Street.
She said: "We keep being asked to have Pride in Huddersfield.
"I try by supporting Town. But if the parking situation continues I won't be renewing my season ticket next year."
Parking is restricted to one hour, but Mrs Palmer, from Lindley, would like the rule to be waived on match days.
She said: "Saturday afternoon is meant to be pleasurable, but it's turning into a nightmare."
In the meantime Kirklees Council has promised to enforce the law.
A spokesman said:
"We are unaware of any agreement not to enforce the advertised one-hour parking limit on Great Northern Street."
But he said the council was considering a change to allow free parking on match days.
He said: "Now we are aware of the issues we are consulting with a view to altering the traffic regulation order."
