FIVE Town players missed training yesterday because of the illness bug which has swept through the club.

But the good news for boss Andy Ritchie, pictured, was that Malvin Kamara, the first player to go down with sickness and stomach cramps, worked out as usual.

Michael Collins, Andy Holdsworth, Matt Glennon, Luke Beckett and Danny Racchi were the men to stay away from Storthes Hall.

Kamara, Holdsworth, Glennon, Racchi and Richard Keogh were all affected during Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Northampton.

“There’s clearly something doing the rounds, but we’re hoping it will disappear as quickly as it came,” said Ritchie, who is planning for Saturday’s lunchtime showdown with Luton, when Town aim to bounce back after four successive defeats.

“Having so many missing training was an inconvenience, but they wouldn’t have been in a fit state to work, and keeping them away from the club might have prevented someone else getting ill.”
