TOWN'S poor away form is going to cost them promotion unless they buck up their ideas.

Southend apart, the top six are abject and it's obvious that Nottingham Forest will get the third promotion spot via the play-offs.

They've got all the momentum and form that Town had last season.

So we've got to beat the others to the second place or else all will be lost for another season.

Look what's happened to Hartlepool since we played them!

Come on Pav

IT WILL be very bad news if Andy Booth is out for any length of time.

But it's now time for Pawel Abbott to show what he's made of, work hard and get the goals he's capable of in this division to fire us to promotion.

I wasn't at Saturday's game against Gillingham, but now is not the time for moaning.

Now is the time to get right behind the team and cheer them on to promotion.

I still think we are the best of the clubs chasing second place.

If we don't win promotion, then maybe that's the time to have a moan.

Come on Town, we can still do it.

Confidence gone

I FELT confident Town could get a decent result at Gillingham - now I can't see them winning away full stop.

What a difference a few days makes!

I still say 4-4-2 would be my first choice formation, and only individual errors seem to be making it fail.

However, I am not against 5-3-2, it has been proven it can do a job, and if it stops a slide I will welcome it.

Progress or not?

JUST as the realists were criticised for being quiet after the Barnsley match, the rose-tinted spectacles crowd have gone pretty quiet after yet another poor away performance at Gillingham.

Don't think we have the form for automatics and would not fancy the play-offs, particularly if Forest reach them, which is looking quite likely.

Still, we should make the play-offs which, as some will think it progress, is better than we managed last season.

Personally, I think we have gone backwards after the first three months of the season.

Time to change

SURELY Town have to play 3-5-2 at Bournemouth now.

Where are the away clean sheets?

One away win since Yeovil in November.

Boothy is best

THOUGHT Town looked very average against Gillingham on Saturday.

Might have got back into it had Boothy stayed on, as I thought he was still looking good.

To all those who've suggested dropping him at various times this year - you're wrong.

Still, after all the mediocre performances we're still in touch with the automatic spot.

And on paper we've got a pretty easy run-in.

Failing automatic I'd like Colchester, Barnsley, Oldham or Swansea in the play-offs.

Not keen on tackling Forest or Brentford.

Worthy defender

IT seems that Town's biggest problem is too many of our midfield are good at going forward but do not hold their position when defending.

Maybe it is not the formation but the personnel that need to change away from home.

I think Jon Worthington is taking the criticism for the shortcomings of others.

Those critics should wait until he is missing - then you will see how important he is.

Danny's right

I AGREE with Danny Schofield - he is not a diver.

He has his legs taken from underneath him, so of course he is going to fall over!

Form important

UNFORTUNATELY, I don't fancy Town's chances against any of the possibles to get in the play-off positions.

If you look at this season, the ones in contention have been beaten by us when they have been on a bad run and out of form.

I rather feel at this stage in the season that it is automatic promotion for us, or nothing.

Here's hoping though. Keep the faith!
