David Wagner says he is gathering a team and staff around him who trust in the Huddersfield Town plan.

Wagner would like to add two or three more signings to the eight senior players who have been added since Town last kicked a ball in anger.

He used the example of record £1.8m signing Christopher Schindler from 1860 Munich, who has been brought in to replace £1.5m-package departure Joel Lynch, who has joined Alex Smithies and Jack Robinson at QPR.

“People moving on is part of the game and I think we got a good fee for someone (Lynch) who had only one year left on the contract,” said Wagner.

“We were very well prepared with an alternative player for that position and this is also part of the game, so I am very happy with what we have done.

“I am pleased for Lynchy that he has found a club where he will probably be happy – after he did a good job for this club – and I’m very happy that we have found an alternative who suits our game.”

He went on: “For me, I only like to work with players and people who 100% believe and trust in what we are doing.

“People who want to join what we started several months ago, because we are still at the beginning of the journey, and want to go where we are going.

“For this it is totally important we only work with players and people around this training ground and around this club who totally trust and believe in what we do, and will go with us all the way.”

Schindler, whose wife and baby daughter will be moving to England when the season is under way, trained with his new colleagues for the first time on Friday.
