Ishmael Miller is primed for a full Town debut at home to Wolves tomorrow as Chris Powell’s side aim to build on their stirring 3-1 win at Millwall without top-scorer Nahki Wells.

The striker must serve a one-match ban against Kenny Jackett’s side after a first career dismissal at the New Den, where Miller came on as a late replacement for James Vaughan.

Wells was red-carded in the 51st minute for two bookable offences (both fouls) with the score 1-1.

But that didn’t stop Town sealing victory with a Jacob Butterfield strike and a Vaughan penalty.

Chris Powell’s side are up to 14th in the Championship, with Wolves eighth after a 2-1 home loss to Reading.

Miller, 27, was a deadline-day signing from Blackpool a week ago.

Ahead of the opening of the Football League emergency loan window, Town boss Powell, who termed the second yellow card for Wells “just ludicrous”, said: “It’s a real shame to lose Nahki.

“But we have a tight group who are desperate to do well, and perhaps the timing was right to bring Ishmael in.”

Powell had teenage defenders Joe Wright and Joe Wilkinson on the bench at Millwall.
