DEPARTING coach Martyn Booty today wished Town all the best and described his Galpharm spell as “a fantastic learning curve.”

The 36-year-old will not be part of new manager Stan Ternent’s backroom staff in future but believes his five years with Town will be a boon to his career in years to come.

Thanking fans, players and staff, Booty said: “My time at the club has been a fantastic learning curve and I hope the new management team can take Town to where they deserve to be, in the Championship.

“I’ve had a wonderful time at the club and I’d like to thank Peter Jackson and Terry Yorath for giving me the opportunity in coaching. I know the experience will stand me in good stead.

“There are a lot of friends in the office at the club who I will obviously stay in touch with, and I’d like to thank Gerry Murphy and Graham Mitchell as well, because the last few weeks working with them has been great, and we’ve finished up with a winning team at reserve and first-team level.

“It’s the first time in 21 years in football that I’m now in this situation, but I’ve no regrets at all and I wish everyone at the club every success for the future.”
