TOWN face an FA Youth Cup third-round trip to Hartlepool after the North-Easterners came from behind to win 3-1 at Lincoln.

Pools youth coach John Hewitson, whose team play in the Football League Youth Alliance, said: “It was disappointing that we went behind but the way the lads responded was fantastic.

“We really stepped things up in the second half and by the end we had just dismantled them and we could really have had five or six goals.

“The lads were very tired but they’re all in great spirits and now we’re very much looking forward to the Huddersfield game.”

The match, one of 32 in the third round and Town’s first Youth Cup clash with Pools since 1984-85, when they won 3-1 in a home first-round replay, must take place by December 15.

But Town will first be focusing on tomorrow’s FA Premier Academy League clash against Nottingham Forest at Canalside (11.30).
