LEE CLARK says Huddersfield Town are in “close dialogue” with Cheltenham over on-loan striker Jimmy Spencer.

The 19-year-old played his 20th game for the League II club in their 4-2 FA Cup second-round victory at Luton on Saturday and has notched six goals so far.

Spencer’s initial loan ends on January 3 and the player, who spent the whole of last season at Morecambe, says he would be interested in an extension at promotion-chasing Cheltenham.

But Clark said of one of nine Town men currently out on loan: “Jimmy is our player and at the end of the day it’s our decision.

“At this stage all the parties involved are pleased with how the loan has gone, and we remain in close dialogue with Cheltenham.”
