ARSENAL will head to the Galpharm in August on the back of high-profile home friendlies against Juventus and Real Madrid.

And before their two Emirates Cup games on the weekend of August 2/3, Arsene Wenger and his side will be in Germany to take on Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart on Wednesday, July 30.

The game against Town on Wednesday, August 6 is the fourth confirmed pre-season work-out for the Gunners, who traditionally visit North London neighbours Barnet as well.

Galpharm fans, who can buy tickets for the Arsenal clash now (£15 adults, £10 seniors and students and £5 juniors), have the chance to check them out in advance thanks to Sky Sports.

They are covering all four Emirates Cup matches, with Real Madrid taking on Hamburg and Arsenal meeting Juve on the Saturday. On the Sunday, it’s Juve v Hamburg and Arsenal against Madrid.

The Gunners won their own inaugural competition last summer, when they beat Paris St Germain and Inter Milan.

They went on to compete in the Amsterdam Tournament, defeating Lazio and Ajax (this year’s Dutch line-up is yet to be confirmed).

There were also friendlies against Austrian pair Genclerbirligi and Salzburg, who were the only side to defeat Wenger’s team before 2007-08 got under way.

Town’s centenary celebration match, which kicks-off at 7.00 and comes three days before the start of the new League I season on Saturday, August 10, is their only confirmed pre-season match so far.

Clearly the new manager will have a major say in the schedule.

Arsenal’s visit will be their first to Huddersfield since September 1993, when they were 5-0 winners in a Coca-Cola Cup second-round first-leg tie watched by 14,275 at Leeds Road.

There has been one previous friendly, Arsenal winning 1-0 at Leeds Road in 1966.
