FIRST Division Craven defied their indifferent form this season in the Inter-Divisional fixtures when beating strong Second Division outfit White Swan 7-2.

Martin Milner, Simon Brown, Sean Gant, Andy Gant, Daz Smith (2) and Dean Lewis were on target for Craven, who played well throughout.

Their keeper, Shane Kelly, had a sound game and Milner took the man of the match award, narrowly ahead of Sean Gant.

Craven, in fact, raced into a 4-0 lead before Swan pulled two back by half time. In the second half, Craven totally dominated and should have scored more goals – Sean Gant having several chances.

But their superiority paid off late on when they ran in a further three goals.

Division II leaders Waterloo BC made up for their recent 8-0 defeat at the hands of top-flight Britannia by gaining a great 5-1 victory against Division I high-fliers Pak Rangers.

In a game with surprisingly few chances, Neil Boustead (2), Reid (2) and St Hilaire scored the goals for Waterloo.

Zaman Ullah missed good chances for Pak Rangers, whose only scorer was Abdul Leftisi.

Division I Black Bull ended Division II GMB Meltham’s fine run with a 5-2 win at Honley.

Black Bull’s scorers were Andy Brook, Gary Bradley, Davis Gill and Jordan Kennifick (2) – the latter maintaining a record of having scored in every game he’s played.

GMB were still suffering a Christmas hangover as they went 3-0 down to direct football from Bull.

The home side had plenty of possession but could not convert it into goals until Gee struck from a penalty.

Taylor then lobbed the keeper to make it 3-2 and GMB were looking threatening.

But Bull hit back to score twice more – firstly with a break from midfield and a good finish and finally with a penalty.

First Huddersfield, from Division II, lost 5-2 to top-flight Athletico Monkey, but Busmen manager Mick Dyson thought his side had enough chances to have scored plenty of goals.

Craig Fellows and Chris Munroe scored for First, but Fellows, Munroe and Paul Roper wasted good chances – Roper also missing a penalty while First hotly disputed a disallowed ‘goal.’

Strikes from Will Davidson, Danny Ryan (2) and Dean Siddiq (2) ensured victory for Monkey

In the West Riding Trophy, Britannia Sports march on.

A 4-0 win against Cuedos Rangers takes them into the last eight of the competition.

Ryan Leach (2), Alex Pearson and Doran Jordan were on target for Britannia.
