LEE CLARK believes team unity will be a key factor in Town’s push for promotion.

The manager says he’ll take all 21 of his senior squad members to each away game between now and the end of the season – starting with Hartlepool tomorrow.

“We’re in this together, and I’ve told the players they will all have important roles to play as we strive for success,” said Clark, whose seventh-placed side are chasing back-to-back League I wins on the road after Tuesday’s 2-1 triumph at Carlisle, where Lee Novak and Jordan Rhodes scored.

“They all attend home matches, and from now on, they’ll all be on the away trips as well, and I’m delighted at the way the squad have knitted together.”

The Victoria Park clash, where Town will chase their first win in four visits in front of a sell-out away contingent of 944, is the middle of three in a row away from the Galpharm, with Tranmere to come on Tuesday.

Unbeaten in eight league games, Town have won two out of their last three on the road, and the boss added: “We’ve set a standard, now we have to keep it.

“Apart from giving away a goal late on, I was pleased with the way we went about things at Carlisle, but we have to kick on at Hartlepool.

“It’s a place I know well from my time at Newcastle.

“We have to be ready for a scrap because it’s always a tough venue, where the crowd are right on top of you.

“They’ve got a very experienced manager in Chris Turner, and they gave us a good game at our place earlier in the season.”

Town will be chasing a double after coming from behind to win that one 2-1, and Clark has no injury worries ahead of the clash.

The boss was tight-lipped on team selection, but could well name the same starting side after hailing midfield duo Danny Drinkwater and Antony Kay after the victory at Carlisle.

Hartlepool may recall striker James Brown as they seek a first win in seven in their first outing for a fortnight.
