CAPTAIN Paul Banton will have a fitness test ahead of AFC Emley’s FA Cup clash with Chadderton on Sunday (3.00).

Put back a day to avoid a clash with cricket at the Welfare Ground, Emley boss Darren Hepworth is also without suspended Anthony Leech.

The only other change to the squad who triumphed over Hallam on the opening day of the season is the inclusion of Simeon Fletcher in place of Josh Ingham. who is unavailable.

Hepworth has watched Chadderton, who play in the North West Counties Division I twice in the build-up.

“Chadderton are a well organised side,” he said.

“We have identified their threats and will be putting in place a system to combat them.

“I’m hoping for a more composed performance from the team following Hallam.

“We played some excellent football at times.”

Meanwhile Hepworth has also had another boost in the improving fitness of striker Steven Kenworthy.

“I’m really impressed with the progress that he is making, he is much further on than I thought he would be at this stage in the season,” explained Hepworth.

“We don’t want to rush him into things too quickly and risk his ankle, but he will again be in the squad on Sunday.”

Squad: Clark, Thornton, Schofield, Bradshaw (J), Cyrus, Hazelden, Banton, Haigh, Stuart, Wdowczyk, Roberts, Flynn, Wharam, Kenworthy, Lyness, Fletcher.

Emley’s league cup tie at Worsborough Bridge, due to be played on Tuesday, looks set to be put back a week.
