JACK HUNT has been told to learn from Lee Peltier – then put pressure on Town’s trusty right-back.

Boss Lee Clark has been putting the 20-year-old – back from a loan spell at Chesterfield – through his paces in training this week, and is pleased with what he’s seen.

“Jack has certainly come on during his time at Chesterfield, and now I want him to push on and put himself right into my plans,” said the boss of the club academy product.

“The attacking side of his game has always been strong, and his defending has got better through playing regular first-team football at a club doing well in League II.

“Lee Peltier is a great player to learn from, and Jack’s task is to do just that then put himself in contention to play here.”

Clark also had words of encouragement for Liam Ridehalgh after bringing in rival left-back Tamas Kadar on loan from Newcastle this week.

“Liam has done absolutely brilliantly, but with no timescale on the return of Gary Naysmith, I felt we needed natural cover and competition in that position,” he explained.

Town’s League I trip to face Hartlepool has been set for Tuesday, March 1.
