Jack Hunt is hoping to shrug off a knee problem in time to line-up for Sheffield Wednesday against his former club Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

It’s more than two years since the right-back made a £2m move to Crystal Palace after 121 Town appearances, including the 2012 League I play-off final triumph over Sheffield United at Wembley.

However Hunt, who broke an ankle in one of his early training sessions, has never played a first-team game for the South London club.

He is now in his fourth loan spell from Palace after going to Barnsley, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United.

The 24-year-old came through Town’s academy and after loans to Grays Athletic and Chesterfield, made a high-profile full debut at Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round in January 2011.

He has made 16 Wednesday appearances and helped them make the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

Hunt has played against Town four times.

He was a 2-0 winner at the John Smith’s Stadium with Forest in the Capital One Cup (August 2014) and Rotherham in the Championship (March).

But he tasted defeat with Barnsley (5-0 in March 2014) and Forest (3-0 a year ago).
