FORMER Town manager Peter Jackson says his League II Manager of the Month award is a big boost as he prepares for treatment for throat cancer.
“I’m just so pleased for my players, who have done really well,” said Jackson.
“And this is great timing personally as I take charge for the last time before my treatment against Wycombe at home. It’s a big boost.”
Carlisle boss John Ward has been named League I manager of the month for February.
The Cumbrians remained unbeaten, claiming four wins (including a 2-1 home success over Town) and a draw from their five games.
The other contenders were Swansea manager Roberto Martinez, Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope and Southend chief Steve Tilson.
