PETER JACKSON is determined to match Town's League win at Edgeley Park when they meet Stockport in the FA Cup first round.

Town - 3-2 victors on the opening day of the season - must nip over the Pennines again on Saturday week, November 13, for a first ever Cup meeting between the clubs.

"It would have been nice to have been at home, but it's not a bad draw," said Jackson, who is confident of agreeing a new contract with Nathan Clarke when talks are held on Wednesday.

"We beat them at Edgeley Park on the opening day of the season and there's no reason why we can't go there and do it again.

"The great thing is that it's local for the fans. If you are going to be drawn away, you want it to be fairly close instead of the other end of the country.

"We took almost 2,500 fans on the opening day, which was brilliant, and I know we'll have another big following for the Cup.

"A similar result would be great as well and, while Stockport might be in the same division as us, we fear no-one. We will go there and set our sights on a win to go through to the second round."

Tony Carss, Andy Booth and Pawel Abbott were on target against Sammy McIlroy's side back in August and Stockport remain bottom of League I, having been beaten 2-1 at home by Oldham on Saturday.
