TOWN manager Peter Jackson was less than impressed with the FA's decision to fine the club £400 for their part in the `skirmish of Saltergate'.

Midfielder Chris Brandon, facing his former club, was at the centre of the clash at Chesterfield back on March 12.

While Jackson insists other Town players stepped in as peacemakers, the FA termed the incident a "mass brawl" and charged both clubs with misconduct.

Responding to news of the fine, Jackson said: "I can't believe it, to be honest.

"If they pull up every team for an incident like that, they will have their hands full because it's a weekly occurrence up and down the land."

Two Town players, defenders Tom Clarke and Efe Sodje, were red carded for unrelated incidents during a League I game which the visitors lost 2-1.
