FORMER Town manager Peter Jackson is to be interviewed for the Lincoln vacancy.

It’s believed the 46-year-old is on a four-man shortlist to replace the axed John Schofield at Sincil Bank.

Former Port Vale boss Martin Foyle, ex-Notts County chief Steve Thompson and experienced Brian Little are believed to be the other names in the frame for the Imps.

Lincoln, who climbed to third from bottom of League II by holding Peterborough 1-1, hope to have their man in place before Saturday’s visit to Brentford.

Jackson, whose second spell as Town boss started in the summer of 2003, parted company with Town in March.

Midfielder Mark Bentley wants Gillingham to name their new manager as soon as possible.

Town’s League I rivals have now played eight games since Ronnie Jepson’s resignation in early September.

Iffy Onuora is in caretaker charge.
